AFFF Foam - AFFF - C6 - Self Healing Foam
Imagine a world where fire doesn’t have to be a destructive force. Meet Usafe AFFF Foam – C6, a remarkable synthetic forming foam concentrate that’s designed to combat fires with cutting-edge technology and a focus on environmental safety.
A New Generation of Firefighting Foam – AFF Foam
Usafe AFFF Foam – C6 is not your ordinary foam—it’s a game-changer in fire suppression. What sets it apart is its unique blend of C6 – based fluorinated surfactants. These are special chemicals that are much safer for the environment than older foam formulations. This means that when you use Usafe AFFF – C6, you’re not just fighting fires; you’re also being eco-friendly.
How it Works
When a fire breaks out, especially one involving hydrocarbon fuels like gasoline, oil, or diesel, you need something that can swiftly and effectively smother the flames. Usafe AFFF – C6 does just that. It creates a thin, but incredibly strong, film on the surface of the fuel, essentially sealing it off from the outside world. This prevents the release of dangerous fuel vapors that can make the fire even more explosive.
Moreover, this foam has an impressive ability to spread rapidly across the surface of the fuel, thanks to those C6 -based fluorinated surfactants. This means it covers a large area in a short amount of time. It’s like an impenetrable blanket that doesn’t allow oxygen to reach the fire, and it even has a cooling effect. This dynamic combination of actions leads to a quick knockdown and extinguishing of the flames.
Usafe AFFF – C6 can be mixed with water in a 6% solution and can work well with fresh, sea/salt, or hard water. This versatility makes it a valuable tool for different firefighting scenarios.
Where to Use It
The applications of Usafe AFFF – C6 are wide-ranging. It’s especially effective in controlling Class B fires, which include hydrocarbons like crude oil, gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel. You can find it in use in refineries, tank terminals, power plants, ports, airports, and various onshore and offshore installations. However, it’s not limited to hydrocarbon fires; it can also be used as a wetting agent to combat fires in Class A materials like wood, paper, and tires.
Proportioning and Discharge
For those in the firefighting industry, you’ll be glad to know that Usafe AFFF – C6 can be used with various foam proportioning and discharge devices. Whether you’re using portable or fixed foam proportioners, branch pipes, foam bladder tanks, or other equipment, this foam concentrate can adapt to your needs.
Safety and Compatibility
Safety is always a top concern when dealing with fire suppressants. Usafe AFFF – C6 is UL Listed according to the UL-162 standard, which ensures it meets strict safety and performance criteria. It’s also compatible with dry powders and other equivalent foams, and it can be used in twin-agent systems.
Storage and Shelf Life
When you have a fire suppressant, it's crucial to know that it will work when you need it. Usafe AFFF - C6 has a shelf life of 15 years when stored in its original container. It can handle temperatures up to 60°C for short periods, but it's best to keep it below 49°C and away from direct sunlight and heat. The product is even resilient when it comes to freeze/thaw cycles.
Environmental Responsibility
One of the standout features of Usafe AFFF - C6 is its commitment to the environment. As mentioned before, it contains C6 fluoro surfactants that are safer for the ecosystem and aquatic life. It's also biodegradable, which means it naturally breaks down over time. However, when disposing of it, make sure to follow local regulations and check the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for additional information.
In conclusion, Usafe AFFF - C6 is not just foam; it's an innovation that's transforming firefighting into a safer and more environmentally responsible endeavor. With its exceptional performance, adaptability, and eco-friendly qualities, it's a powerful tool in the battle against fires, making the world a safer place for all of us.
